Course length:Full Day Cost $200.00 + HST / Person

Supervisors play a key role in promoting healthy safety culture and job safety by identifying hazards and implementing methods of control, communicating safe work plans, observing the work, and by ensuring company policies and procedures are followed.
This course is designed to give participants a comprehensive understanding of the roles and responsibilities of workplace parties under the Occupational Health & Safety Act with a focus on the duties of supervisors, communication, and safe job planning

By the end of this course participants will be able to:
Identify duties and rights of workers under the Occupational Health & Safety Act
Identify duties of employers and supervisors under the OHSA
Explain Roles of Joint Health & Safety Committees (JHSC)
Explain the role of a Worker Health and Safety Representative under OSHA
Explain the roles of the Ministry of Labour and Workplace Safety and Insurance Board
Describe the roles of other entities under OHSA Section 22.5
Recognize, Assess, Control and Evaluate (RACE) workplace hazards
Site sources for information on health and safety issues
Explain the hazard pathway
Explain the hierarchy of controls
Explain the key elements of a Job Safety Analysis (JSA)
Identify when a written JSA would be appropriate
Identify appropriate controls to mitigate or eliminate risk factors
