SUMMARY
This course is designed to provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of the Occupational Health & Safety Act and how it relates to their workplace. The role of the Ministry of Labour and required policies, procedures, training and record keeping are discussed.

Explain what the Internal Responsibility System (IRS) is and how it relates to the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA)
Explain the importance of fostering a healthy safety culture
Explain the Roles and Responsibilities of workplace parties
Explain what health and safety resources are available
Explain the role of the Ministry of Labour (MOL)
Identify regulations applicable to their workplace
Demonstrate creating a policy
Demonstrate creating a safe work plan
Demonstrate finding rules within the regulations that are relevant to their workplace.
